Pereyra began his professional career at Club Atlético River Plate, helping the club to four first division titles during his spell there. In January 2004, he was transferred to RCD Mallorca in Spain, being an undisputed starter for the La Liga side from an early stage.
In March 2008, Pereyra moved to FC Lokomotiv Moscow, but the Russian side decided to terminate the deal shortly after, and he subsequently joined BSC Young Boys on 11 February 2009, initially until the end of the season.[2]
In late August 2009, Pereyra returned to Spain, penning a two-year deal with second division outfit Real Murcia, arriving on a free transfer. For the following season, after Murcia's relegation, he returned to his country, joining San Lorenzo de Almagro.[3]
